Mulled Wine Liqueur

The perfect mulled wine liqueur recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 liter Mulled wine
  • 400 g Sugar
  • 300 ml Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3 Pc. Cinnamon stick
  • 9 Pc. Star anise
  • 9 Pc. Cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon (level) Pimento
  • 1 Teaspoon (level) Ground cardamom
  • 3 Pc. Vanilla pod
  • 600 ml Rum
  • 1 Pc. Tea filter
  1. Put mulled wine (can be red or white) with sugar, orange juice, allspice and cardamom in a large saucepan. Put the cinnamon stick, star anise and cloves in the tea filter and close it. Scrape out the vanilla pod and add everything to the wine.
  2. Heat and cook for 5 minutes, remove the spices and let cool. Then pour through a sieve and fill up with the rum, if you like it stronger, take more rum.
  3. Put in bottles and leave in a dark place for 7 days, but you can drink it earlier. Tastes great in sparkling wine – or warm with icing … or just cold. 2.7 liters come out.
