Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g minced beef
- 1 kg potatoes
- 2 onions
- 2 jars of pickles
- ¼ liter broth (if you prefer it more liquid, use more)
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp oil

slightly modified version of the Westphalian stew
Peel and dice the potatoes. Slice the onions into rings and the gherkins into slices. Brown the minced meat in oil until crumbly. Then add the diced potatoes, sliced gherkins, and onions layer by layer (starting and ending with the potatoes). Season each layer with salt and pepper. Finally, add the broth. If you like it a little more tangy, add a little of the gherkin liquid to the stew. Cook for about 40 minutes and then enjoy.
