sweet white bread

Crumble the yeast into the milk, cover, and let stand for 10 minutes. Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Add the yeast, milk, lard, eggs, and salt, and knead everything well until the dough pulls away from the bowl and your hands. Add a little more flour if necessary. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size (about 30 minutes). Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). After the rising time, knead the dough again and shape it into a loaf of bread. Fold the dough over itself lengthwise to create an oblong loaf. Place the dough in the oven to bake and immediately reduce the heat to 180°C (350°F). After 30 minutes, check whether the bread is done using a wooden skewer. Then increase the heat to 200°C (400°F) and bake for another 5 minutes.
