Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler and soak the dates in hot water. Finely grind the almonds and mix with the flour, baking powder, and salt. Discard the water, then add the dates and blend into a smooth, sticky mixture. Stir in the chocolate. While stirring, add enough milk to form a mushy batter. If desired, add chopped walnuts, dried cranberries, or cocoa powder to the batter. Pour the batter into a baking dish lined with parchment paper or into muffin cups and bake at 175°C for half an hour. This makes approximately 12 brownies.
