Oatbread / Oatmeal Bread
The perfect oatbread / oatmeal bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 200 ml Boiling water
- 50 g 5-Grain oat flakes, e.g. from dm
- 50 g Whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp Brown sugar
- 2 tsp Salt
- 60 g Yogurt butter
- 0,5 packet Dry yeast
- 300 g Spelled flour
- 50 ml Lukewarm water
- Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal, whole wheat flour, sugar, salt and butter, stir and let stand until the mixture is lukewarm. Mix the yeast in the lukewarm water and add to the oat flakes, stir well.
- Knead in the flour so that an elastic, no longer sticky dough is formed – it is best to first work with the dough hook and then with your hands. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for at least an hour. I used my bread maker to knead and let go!
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees!
- Shape a loaf, score at the top with a knife. Let go for another hour. Bake bread in the oven at 200 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes. It’s done when they sound hollow at the bottom when you tap on them.
