Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 can of sardines (sardines in oil)
- 100 g butter
- 100 g cream cheese
- 1 onion(s)
- 2 gherkins
- 1 tsp mustard, medium hot
- Salt
- pepper
- 2 dashes lemon juice
- 2 tbsp milk, warm
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Finely chop the onion and cucumber. Using a hand mixer, combine the sardines, softened butter, and cream cheese without oil until smooth. Add the onion, cucumber, and mustard and mix well. If the mixture is too thick, whisk again with the warm milk. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and lemon juice, if desired. Let stand for 30 minutes. Tastes especially good on hearty bread, but also with white bread or rolls.
