Onion and nut spread

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 120 g onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 100 g butter
  • 80 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 2 tsp marjoram, dried
  • 1 tsp thyme, dried
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 6 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp vegetable stock powder
  • 6 tbsp water
  • pepper
  • possibly salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Finely chop the onions and garlic and fry in half the butter until golden brown. Finely chop the nuts, marjoram, thyme, and bay leaf in an electric chopper. Mix the nut mixture, nutritional yeast, and broth with the onions and fry for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring continuously. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir the water and remaining butter into the warm mixture. Season with pepper (and salt if desired). Let it sit in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours. It will keep for about 8 days in the refrigerator.
