Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g flour (chickpea flour)
  • ¼ tsp turmeric (Tumeric – turmeric)
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp cumin, ground
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 25 g coriander leaves
  • Water, cold
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Combine the flour, baking powder, and spices in a large bowl, then add the finely sliced ​​onion and finely chopped coriander and mix well. Gradually add enough water to form a thick batter. The onions should be well coated. Heat the oil in a wok or deep fryer to 180°C. Very carefully, spoon the batter into the hot oil and cook. While all the bhajis are frying, keep the finished bhajis warm (e.g., on kitchen paper in an oven at 50°C).
