Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g pork shoulder
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 300 g onion(s), sliced
  • 100 g lard
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • ½ liter of Pilsner
  • 3 tbsp black bread, stale, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly water if needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Sauté the onions in the fat, dice the meat, add it, and fry vigorously. Sprinkle with paprika and immediately deglaze with the beer. Add the caraway seeds, cover the pot, and cook the meat over low heat. After about 15 minutes, add the brown bread. If necessary, add a little water and let it cook for another 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
