Orange and Marzipan Eggs
The perfect orange and marzipan eggs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 200 g Marzipan raw mass
- 2 tbsp Orange liqueur
- 2 tbsp Orange jam
- 5 tbsp Powdered sugar
- 200 g Dark chocolate
- 200 g White chocolate f.d. Decoration
- Tear apart the marzipan and place in a bowl. Add the liqueur and jam and knead everything with the dough hook of the hand mixer to a homogeneous mass. Gradually add the powdered sugar and knead in as well. The mass must be moldable and only have to be minimally sticky. This is prevented later with slightly moistened hands.
- Line a solid surface with baking paper and keep it ready. Then cut off portions of the size of the marzipan mixture with a teaspoon and roll them oval and egg-shaped between your slightly damp hands. Place the blanks on the baking paper. In between, clean your hands again and again and leave them slightly damp in order to continue working.
- Since the mass is easy to shape, but still quite soft, the blanks including the base must be placed in the freezer until the next day. You can then dive very well without losing their shape.
- Melt the chocolate over the water bath. Then take the blanks out of the freezer in portions, remove them from the paper, use a praline fork to dip them into the chocolate and place on new baking paper. The ice-cold blanks make the chocolate solid very quickly.
- Straighten the slightly running edges with a sharp knife. Melt some white chocolate over the water bath, pour it into a small piping bag and cut off the tip minimally so that only a tiny opening is created. Decorate the chocolate with it as desired.
- Do it yourself is fun …………. and tastes like more ………….. and when you have such great, homemade orange jam from friend “lunapiena.” “Has at hand, the production is even more fun ……. Thanks for that.
