Orange caramel with Grand Marnier

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 ml Grand Marnier (or other orange liqueur)
  • 2 orange(s), untreated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 20 minutes

Finely grate the orange zest and squeeze out at least 150 ml of juice. Melt the sugar over medium heat until a light brown caramel forms. Carefully add the orange juice and simmer over low heat until the caramel is dissolved. Add the Grand Marnier and orange zest, bring back to a boil, and simmer for 3 minutes over low heat. Tastes great with “my” panna cotta à l’orange.
