Orange Curd

The perfect orange curd recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Lowfat quark
  • 150 g Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tbsp Flowerhoney
  • 0,33 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 0,33 tsp Ginger powder
  • 1 Msp Ground cardamom
  • 1 Msp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Almonds
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  1. Put all ingredients (except almond slivers and sugar) in a bowl and stir well together. I used a hand blender instead of a whisk.
  2. Put the quark in the cold until you can eat it and let it rest for a while. Had the orange variety Midnight (juice orange), Valencia are also good.
  3. Toast the almond chips in a pan without fat, then add the sugar and let it caramelize. Do not pay attention to this for too long, otherwise it could become bitter. Spread the finished almond slivers on a plate or baking paper to cool down.
