Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 110 g butter
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg(s), (size M)
  • ½ orange(s), (zest of an untreated orange)
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 220 g flour (type 405)
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp orange juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

simple Christmas cookies

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add orange zest and juice. Sift flour with baking powder and mix in alternately with egg and egg yolk on speed one. Wrap dough in cling film and chill. Knead dough until smooth, then roll out with a little flour to a thickness of 4 mm. Cut out hearts, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and bake at 160°C (fan oven) for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Mix icing sugar and orange juice until a not-too-thin glaze is formed, then glaze the hearts.
