Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 120 ml orange juice, freshly squeezed or direct juice, slightly warmed
- some orange peel (organic, 2 strips, chopped)
- 50 g sugar
- 570 ml rum, white or brown
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Rum with oranges, makes 700 ml
Place the chopped peel in a small pot of boiling water for one minute, then drain. Pour all ingredients—except the rum—into a clean, dry bottle and shake until the sugar dissolves. Then add the alcohol. Store the sealed bottle in a cool, dark, and dry place, shaking it once daily. After two weeks, strain the resulting clear liquid into a clean, dry bottle, reseal it, and store it for another two months before opening. It’s best to stock up enough for the Advent and Christmas season, as supplies will be significantly reduced after the holidays!
