Oriental sesame cakes with a refined cardamom note

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 5 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 180 g wholemeal flour
  • 8 g baking powder
  • some cardamom
  • 100 g beet syrup
  • 40 g coconut yogurt (yogurt alternative), unsweetened
  • 80 g plant milk (plant drink)
  • 60 g oil
  • 12 almonds

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Roughly chop the sesame seeds and toast them in a pan. No oil is needed. Combine the flour, baking powder, and sesame seeds in a bowl and add a pinch of cardamom to taste—about 1 pinch to 1/2 teaspoon. Combine the wet ingredients and stir into the flour mixture. Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups and top each cake with an almond. Bake the cakes in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. These oriental sesame cakes contain approximately 160 calories per serving.
