Original Thuringian hunter's schnitzel

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of sausage (beer ham)
  • some flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp oil (peanut oil)
  • 300 ml sauce (gravy)
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 100 ml cream
  • 400 g vegetables (carrots and peas), frozen
  • 2 tbsp butter, salted

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

For the schnitzel, cut the ham lengthwise into 2 cm thick slices (lengthwise). Coat the ham slices in flour, dip them in the beaten egg, and press them into the breadcrumbs. Fry each schnitzel in hot oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat until golden brown on each side. Make the sauce from the pan juices, cream, and a little sweet paprika. Heat the carrot and pea mixture in the butter, but keep them crispy.
