Oven-baked donuts, No. 2

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 255 g flour
  • 150 g white sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg, grated
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 180 ml buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 113 g butter, melted
  • 50 g white sugar
  • 55 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Cake donuts, without yeast

Preheat oven to 160 degrees C, bottom heat if possible, otherwise top/bottom heat. Lightly grease 2 donut pans. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. In a smaller bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until well combined. Then add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. Fill donut pans 3/4 full and place in the oven. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until light golden brown. Let the donuts cool slightly in the pan, then remove from the pan. Prepare the topping: Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Dip each donut in the melted butter and then roll in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Note: Batter yields 12 donuts.
