Oven Cauliflower Casserole with Ham

The perfect oven cauliflower casserole with ham recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 head Cauliflower
  • Salt
  • 150 g Boiled ham
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Instant vegetable broth
  • Pepper from the grinder
  • 200 g Gouda cheese
  • Fat for the shape
  • Nutmeg
  1. Clean the cauliflower, cut into small florets, wash. Cook in a little boiling salted water for 7-10 minutes. Pour off, catching the liquid, let it drip off. Spread the cabbage florets in a greased baking dish. Cut the ham into strips and mix with the cauliflower.
  2. For the sauce, peel the onion and dice it. Sauté in hot butter until translucent. Dust the flour over it and sauté briefly while stirring. Stir in approx. 100ml cauliflower water, milk and stock. Bring to the boil, simmer for about 5 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg
  3. Spread the icing over the cauliflower. Grate the cheese, sprinkle over it. Bake the casserole on the middle rack of the hot oven at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes until the cheese melts.
