Palatinate Apple Cake
The perfect palatinate apple cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1000 g Apples
- 2 small Organic lemons, juice and zest
- 5 Eggs
- 125 g Butter, soft
- 250 g Sugar
- 500 g Curd cheese 20%
- 100 g Semolina
- 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar
- 2 Pck. Calvados or similar
- Peel and core the apples and cut into thin wedges. Keep in the water with the lemon juice.
- Grease the spring form (DM 26 cm) well. Preheat the oven to 175 °.
- Beat the butter, sugar and egg yolks until creamy. Stir in the quark, semolina and lemon zest. Add the well-drained apple wedges and mix well with the batter. Then fold in the egg whites, pour the mixture into the mold and immediately place it in the oven on the middle rack.
- Baking time 90 minutes. For the last 30 minutes, switch the temperature down to 160 °. Let the cake cool down with the door slightly open.
- Either plaster it right away …… or just wait …. 🙂 An eggnog cream tastes good with it.
