Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 slices of toast
  • some oil or butter
  • 1 large onion(s), diced
  • 1 thick bell pepper(s), diced
  • 60 g smoked ham, diced
  • 1 large egg(s)
  • 50 ml milk
  • 100 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

the perfect dish for 3 a.m.

First, dice the toast and fry it in a pan with a little oil or butter over medium heat. Next, add various finely chopped ingredients such as onions, peppers, etc. (whatever you have in the fridge). Now comes the most important part: When you think everything has been cooked long enough, mix the egg with the milk and add a little salt and pepper. Whisk briefly and add it directly to the pan. Then turn off the heat (on gas stoves: lowest setting) and stir everything thoroughly. The remaining heat is used for the following: Sprinkle the grated cheese directly into the pan and stir immediately until the cheese is stringy and the “dish” resembles a lumpy mass. Serve with a suitable barbecue sauce, ketchup, or something similar (the recipe actually allows for a lot of flexibility). A few things to keep in mind: The toast always comes first! The cheese always comes last! Don’t use vegetables that tend to water too much! The ingredients should all work together in some way. I once tried it with pickles and pasta—it was a disaster! Good and suitable ingredients include salami, bratwurst, corn, leeks, zucchini, etc.
