Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • e.g. maple syrup
  • e.g. powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

US recipe

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Crack the egg into another bowl and beat with a fork. Add the buttermilk and oil and beat everything together again. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and stir until a thick batter forms. Cook about 8 thick pancakes from the batter in a 20 cm diameter pan. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Serve the warm pancakes with maple syrup or powdered sugar.
