Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 apples, e.g. Delicious, red or yellow
  • 700 g sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • n. B. Food coloring, red or green
  • e.g. sweets (love beads)
  • n. B. Almond(s) (almond flakes)
  • n. B. Almond(s), chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Great to prepare, very nice as a souvenir, simple!

You will also need small wooden skewers or sticks (from the forest) and red gift ribbon. Wash the apples, pat them dry, and insert the collected and cut-to-length sticks. Line a baking sheet or tray with baking paper and set aside. In a saucepan as tall as possible, bring the sugar, food coloring, and lemon juice to a boil. Be careful, they burn easily! Now dip the apples in the sugar mixture as quickly as possible and let them drain. Now you can either dip them briefly in the almonds or love beads, place them on the baking paper, and let them dry. Then decorate the sticks with a red ribbon. Drying time: approx. 10 minutes. If you want to take the apples home as a gift, you can wrap them individually in small homemade baking paper bags: this way they won’t stick!
