Pear and blackberry compote à la Gabi

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 kg pear(s), small, ripe
  • some vinegar mixed in water
  • 250 g blackberries
  • 1 ¼ liters of water or 1 liter of water and 250 ml of white wine
  • 2 lemon(s), the juice
  • 300 g sugar
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 pinch of cardamom powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel, quarter, core, and slice the pears. Place the pear pieces in vinegar and water to prevent them from turning brown. Sort the blackberries. Bring 1.25 liters of water or 1 liter of water and 250 ml of white wine to a boil with lemon juice, sugar, cloves, and cardamom. Remove the pear pieces from the vinegar and water, drain, and divide them into jars with the blackberries. Fill the jars with the sugar and water and seal immediately. Boil the jars in the oven at 75°C for 30 minutes.
