Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg pear(s)
  • 200 g jelly (quince jelly)
  • 300 ml water
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • ½ lemon(s), untreated, juice and zest

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Combine the quince jelly with the water, zest, and juice of half a lemon, and bring to a boil. Add the split vanilla pod and vanilla seeds. Peel, quarter, and core the pears. Cut into wedges and cook in the liquid until soft, about 10 minutes. Remove the pears and let the liquid simmer for another 10 minutes. Remove the lemon zest and vanilla pod, add the pears back in, and let the compote cool. Serve with baked Camembert and spicy cheeses, game dishes, and chocolate mousse.
