Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 liter of milk
- 1 dl rice pudding
- 3 dl dried fruits, mixed
- 5 dl water
- 1 ½ dl sugar
- 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
- 3 tbsp potato starch
- 2 star anise
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Finnish rice porridge with dried fruit sauce (Christmas dessert)
Bring the milk and rice pudding to a boil, then let the rice swell over very low heat. Place the fruit in a saucepan with the water, sugar, and spices. Bring to a boil and simmer until the fruit softens. Mix the potato starch with a little cold water and add it to the fruit sauce. Simmer for a few more minutes, then remove from the heat. Serve with the rice pudding. P.S. With 5 dl of water, the fruit sauce can be very thick, depending on the strength of the potato starch. Simply add a little more water if necessary.
