Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 pear(s), ripe
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp sugar, light brown
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 60 g margarine (semi-skimmed)
  • Vanilla sauce, reduced fat
  • Lemon(s) – peel, zest

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

(Baked pears with cinnamon and brown sugar)

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Peel the pears, halve them lengthwise, and core them. Brush the pears with lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Place the pears in a non-stick roasting pan, cut side up. Place the cinnamon, sugar, and low-fat margarine in a small saucepan and heat gently, stirring constantly until the sugar melts. Drizzle the mixture over the pears. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until soft and golden brown, basting occasionally with the sugar mixture. Heat the vanilla sauce and divide it between 4 dessert plates. Place 2 pear halves on each plate and garnish with strips of lemon zest to serve.
