Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g pasta (e.g. spirelli, farfalle or egg noodles)
  • 4 large onions
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 tsp paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • e.g. cream or milk
  • e.g. parsley, chopped, frozen
  • Clarified butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Ready in 15 minutes, Hungarian inspired

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Peel the onions and dice them into small cubes. Heat the clarified butter in a non-stick pan and fry the diced onions with a little sugar. Mix with the paprika and salt. Add the drained pasta. Mix the sour cream (or whipped cream, if desired) with a dash of milk and pour over the pasta. Mix everything together, season to taste, garnish with the chopped parsley, and serve immediately. This paprika, sour cream, and onion sauce can also be served with dumplings, potatoes, or egg noodles.
