- 120 g dark chocolate
- 100 g butter, soft
- 100 g cream cheese, double cream
- 3 eggs
- 90 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 75 g chopped nuts (hazelnuts, pecans or walnuts)
- Fat, for the shape
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Melt the chocolate with 50g of butter and set aside to cool. Beat the remaining butter with the cream cheese until creamy. Add 1 egg, 1 tbsp of the flour, and 1 sachet of vanilla sugar and set aside. Beat 2 eggs with a mixer on medium speed until fluffy, gradually adding the sugar. Preheat oven to 180°C (fan oven: 160°C; gas mark 3-4). Mix the remaining flour, baking powder, and salt and stir into the eggs. Add the chocolate, nuts, and remaining vanilla sugar. Grease a 20x20cm baking dish. First, spread half of the chocolate batter into the dish, then the cream cheese mixture, and finally, pour the remaining chocolate batter on top. To create a marbled texture, run a knife through the batter in several directions, making a wave-like pattern. Bake in the hot oven for 35-40 minutes, let cool on a wire rack, remove from the dish, and cut into equal pieces. The dough can also be layered into a 26 cm springform pan. After cooling, cut into thin strips.
