Philadelphia chicken

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g chicken breast fillet(s) or turkey breast fillet
  • 150 g herb cream cheese, e.g. Philadelphia
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 tsp stock powder of your choice
  • Smoked bacon, sliced
  • Mustard, medium hot
  • Garden herbs
  • possibly salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Wash the meat thoroughly under running water and then pat dry. Cut each fillet half in half and generously brush with mustard. Wrap the meat pieces in bacon and place in an ovenproof dish. Roast in an oven preheated to 160°C (convection oven preheated to 180°C) for about 25 minutes (or 180°C (top/bottom heat). Meanwhile, make a sauce from cream, milk, granulated stock, cream cheese, and, if available, chopped fresh garden herbs (e.g., parsley, cress, chervil, chives). Pour over the fillets and return the dish to the oven for another 15 minutes. Salt and pepper are not absolutely necessary; stock, cheese, mustard, and bacon provide enough flavor. Serve with rice, or even better with curry rice.
