Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 800 g beef (beef rump)
- 3 baguette(s), for baking
- 4 onions
- 250 g processed cheese
- 300 g cheese, grated cheddar
- 100 ml cream
- salt and pepper
- oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
like in Philadelphia
First, cut the meat into thin slices, not too large, as otherwise it will be difficult to “pack” the sandwich. Then, season with salt and pepper. Dice the onions and sauté them in a little oil until lightly browned. Set aside. In another pot, dissolve the processed cheese in the cream and melt the grated cheese in the same sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place the baguettes in the oven; do not finish baking them, as they will be finished cooking later. 3 minutes should be enough. Now, brown the meat in a pan, not on the highest heat; just cook the meat. Remove the baguettes from the oven and cut them lengthwise. First, spread the cheese sauce on them, then add the meat and drizzle with more cheese sauce. Return to the oven until the baguette reaches the desired browning. Finally, sprinkle the onions on top and enjoy the sandwich.
