Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 2 onions
  • 2 bell peppers, green and red
  • 1 tbsp spirit vinegar or herb vinegar
  • 40 ml water
  • 240 ml ketchup or pureed tomatoes with approx. 15 g brown or white sugar)
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

First, finely chop the onions. Remove the stems and seeds from the bell peppers and cut them into small cubes. Without adding any fat, fry the ground meat and chopped onions over medium heat until the meat is browned. When the bottom of the pot starts to brown, add the diced bell peppers, water, and ketchup. The roasted ingredients add a lot of flavor and will dissolve when the liquid is added. Simmer uncovered until the liquid has reduced significantly. Season the mixture with vinegar, pepper, and salt. Stir in the mustard at the very end. Serve the meat sauce on lukewarm hamburger buns.
