Pickled feta cheese Italian style

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g feta cheese, in one piece
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • 2 Pepper , fresh red
  • 1 handful of bell pepper(s), diced (yellow & green)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 sprigs thyme, fresh
  • 2 sprigs rosemary, fresh
  • 2 sprigs basil, fresh
  • ½ lemon(s), untreated, peel
  • 500 ml oil (cold-pressed olive oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Dice the feta cheese. Crush the peppercorns. Wash the bell peppers, slice them, and remove the seeds. Peel the garlic and slice them. Wash the bell peppers and dice them. Wash the herbs and pat them dry. Combine all ingredients without oil and fill jars. Pour in the olive oil so that the ingredients are well covered. Close the jars tightly with lids. Store in a cool, dark place. Tip: Let it steep for about 2 days. This yields approximately 1 kg – so 2 jars of 500g each.
