Pickled Sweet and Sour Peppers

The perfect pickled sweet and sour peppers recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 900 ml Water
  • 400 ml Table vinegar
  • 200 ml Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 kg Fresh green and red peppers from our own harvest
  • 2 piece Fresh onions
  • 2 piece Garlic cloves
  • 4 piece Bay leaves
  • 30 piece Allspice grains
  • 12 piece Black peppercorns
  • 4 tsp Salt
  • 400 g Sugar

To prepare:

  1. Wash the peppers and remove the stem end.
  2. Peel the onions and garlic and cut into cubes.

Prepare:

  1. Mix the water, vinegar, olive oil, sugar, onions and garlic in a large saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. When the brew is boiling, add the peppers and let simmer briefly.
  3. Fish out the peppers and pour them into the glasses. Then pour the brew over it.
  4. Close the jars and let stand upside down for approx. 5-10 minutes.
  5. Approx. Let it steep for 3 days so that the flavors can combine.
