Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 150 g butter, soft
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- some lemon peel, untreated, grated or 1 packet of Citro-Back
- 250 g flour
- 1 packet of pudding powder (vanilla flavor)
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiffly
- ¾ pack of baking powder
- 125 ml milk
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp water, warm
- 1 dashes lemon juice
Instructions

makes 14 pieces
Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest for about 10 minutes until creamy. Stir in the egg yolks one at a time. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and pudding powder, then stir in alternately with the milk. Fold in the egg whites. Place 6 cm-diameter blobs on two baking sheets lined with baking paper, but no more than 7 per sheet. Bake in a preheated oven to 175°C for 10-20 minutes. For the glaze, combine the powdered sugar, water, and lemon juice and spread over the cooled American cookies.
