Pita bread with sesame and cumin

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g wheat flour type 405 or spelt flour type 630
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 8 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • Water for brushing
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin, whole

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

simple and very tasty, makes about 6 loaves

Place the flour in a bowl. Dissolve the yeast and honey in 250 ml of lukewarm water, add to the flour, and knead into a smooth dough. Let it rise for about 10 minutes. Then knead the olive oil and salt into the dough, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Divide the dough into about 6 pieces and form flatbreads. Place these pieces on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and prick the flatbreads several times with a fork. Brush with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds and cumin. Bake on the middle rack of an oven preheated to 200°C (fan oven) for about 25 minutes.
