Plaaten in the Pann

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 sausages, coarse
  • 500 g potato(s), waxy
  • 4 tbsp ham cubes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 3 tbsp marjoram, freshly chopped
  • 2 cups of cream
  • some salt and pepper
  • some lard

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Fry the sausages in a large pan in lard until nicely browned all over. Peel the potatoes, cut them into 1-2 mm thick slices, and add them to the sausages. Add the cream until the potatoes are just covered. Add the ham, onion, and marjoram, reserving a little marjoram for sprinkling. Then simmer everything in the covered pan over medium heat for about 25 minutes. Stir occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper, sprinkle with the remaining fresh marjoram, and serve. Altbier is especially delicious with it. A fresh salad also goes very well with the dish, if desired.
