Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 Mettwurst sausages (100 g each)
  • 40 g butter
  • 1,000 g potatoes
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • 125 ml meat broth, hot
  • 125 ml cream
  • possibly caraway, ground
  • Parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the Mettwurst sausages into 2 cm thick slices. Heat butter in a pan and fry the sausage slices until crispy and brown on all sides. Peel the potatoes and cut them into wafer-thin slices. Arrange them on top of the sausage slices. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the meat broth over the sausages and let them simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Pour the cream (whipped with caraway seeds, if you like) over the potatoes and let them simmer for another 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Side dish: Mixed salad.
