Plum Cake with Nut Brittle

The perfect plum cake with nut brittle recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Shortcrust:

  • 125 g Flour
  • 125 g Quark
  • 125 g Butter
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Bread flour
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Brittle:

  • 100 g Chopped nuts
  • 20 g Butter
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 kg Plums
  1. Make a shortcrust pastry out of flour, quark, butter and sugar.
  1. Roll out the dough and place in a greased springform pan (26 cm). Press one edge approx. 3 cm high. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  1. Place the pitted plums on the dough with the inside facing upwards. Bake at 180 ° C for approx. 45 – 50 minutes. 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time, sprinkle the plums with 1 tablespoon of sugar and then with the nut brittle.
  1. Brittle: Lightly brown the chopped nuts with butter and sugar in a pan.
