Plum dessert with meringue topping

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g plum(s), pitted
  • ¼ liter of water
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 packet of dessert sauce (vanilla flavor)
  • 2 egg whites, fresh
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Bring the plums to a boil with water, 50g sugar, and the cinnamon stick, then simmer for 3 minutes. Whisk the vanilla sauce powder with a little water until smooth. Then combine with the plums. Beat the egg whites until stiff, gradually adding 100g sugar and finally whisking in the lemon juice. Remove the cinnamon from the plums and transfer them to a baking dish. Spread the meringue mixture on top. Bake in a preheated oven (top/bottom heat: 225°C, fan: 200°C) for 5-8 minutes until golden brown.
