Plum Jam Like One My Grandma Used to Make

  • 1,5 kg Plums
  • 1 piece Orange, the juice
  • 1 piece Vanilla pod scraped out
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon blossoms
  • 750 g Preserving sugar 2: 1
  1. The Bühler plums were frozen and now I finally had time to make delicious jam based on a recipe my grandma made.
  2. Core the plums and dice them into small cubes (I made it with the Nicer Dicer, goes quickly). Squeeze the orange. Scrape the pulp out of the vanilla pod. Now mix all the ingredients together and let it steep for an hour.
  3. Then put the mixture in a high saucepan and bring to the boil and let it boil until the gelling point is reached (skim the food if necessary). For the gelling test, put a few drops of the mixture on a chilled plate.
  4. Then immediately fill into prepared jars (jars should stand on a damp cloth, so you take the tension off the jar when the hot mass is poured in), put the lid on and leave it on the head for a good 5 minutes so that the jar draws vacuum. Then turn it over and cover it with a cloth and let it cool down slowly.
  5. 5th mass makes 9 glasses of 220 ml each.
