Plum sauce with vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g plum(s), halved and pitted
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 g sugar
  • 150 ml red wine
  • 100 ml liqueur (cherry liqueur)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 servings of ice cream (vanilla)
  • 1 tbsp pistachios, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Combine the sugar and water and heat. Bring to a gentle boil at first, then gradually increase the heat and cook until the water has just evaporated. When the sugar is lightly caramelized, add the plums, wine, cinnamon, and liqueur and cook for another 10 minutes. Let cool. Divide the sauce among four deep plates and place a portion of vanilla ice cream in the center of each. Garnish with chopped pistachios.
