Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 180 ml milk (skimmed milk or 1.5% fat)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 egg whites, whisked
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg, grated
- 2 tsp sugar or honey
- ¼ tsp salt
- 6 slices of white bread from the day before, or fresh, slightly dried in the oven
- oil
Instructions

Cut the bread into 5 cm wide strips. Mix all ingredients except the bread and oil. Place the bread slices in a shallow dish and pour the egg wash over them. Let stand for 5-10 minutes. Heat a non-stick pan lightly coated with oil and brown the bread strips on both sides. It’s important to use thick bread for this recipe. 1.5 g fat per person; 0.4 g saturated fat; 165 calories. Total fat is 8.1%. This is a 2.9-point weight-watcher rating.
