Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour type 550
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150 ml white wine
  • 150 ml oil, high quality and neutral
  • n. B. Poppy
  • e.g. sesame

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Mix the dry ingredients. Separate the egg. Add the egg yolk, white wine, and oil to the flour mixture. Knead briefly to form a firm but stretchy dough. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 5 mm thick. Lightly beat the egg whites. Brush the dough with about half of the egg whites and sprinkle generously with sesame seeds to ensure the dough is completely covered. Press down lightly with your hand. Turn the dough over whole and brush the other side with the remaining egg whites and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Divide the dough into strips about 1 cm wide and cut into 6-8 cm long pieces. Twist the strips individually and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 170 °C (convection oven) for about 15-20 minutes on the middle rack until golden brown. Note: This dough is enough for about 2 baking sheets. Tip: You can twist the dough into curls for a more decorative effect.
