Potato dumpling casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 12 dumplings (potato dumplings, half and half), homemade, from a package or frozen
  • 100 g cheese (medium-aged Gouda)
  • 100 g bacon, streaky
  • 1 head of lettuce (romaine lettuce)
  • 400 ml cream
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ bunch chives
  • 2 tbsp onion(s) (fried onions)
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Prepare the dumplings (either by yourself or according to the package instructions). Grate the cheese and dice the bacon. Cut the lettuce into strips and arrange them in a baking dish. Combine the cream and eggs and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Place the finished dumplings in the baking dish and pour the egg and cream over them. Sprinkle everything with the cheese and bacon cubes and bake at 200°C for about 40 minutes. Cut the chives into curls and scatter them over the finished casserole along with the fried onions.
