Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 400 g potatoes, cut into thin slices
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 tsp flour
- 250 ml milk
- 1 pinch(s) of pepper
- 2 tsp processed cheese or grated cheese
- possibly broth, granulated
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes
Cut the potatoes into thin slices and place them in either one large or two small baking dishes. No need to layer them, just spread them out in the dish. Heat a knob of butter, add 1 teaspoon of flour and sauté, then gradually add 250 ml of milk and bring to a boil. Season with pepper. Stir in 2 teaspoons of processed cheese or regular grated cheese and let it melt (I used processed cheese). Season to taste and add granulated stock if desired. Pour over the potatoes and shake the dish a little to distribute the mixture. Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat, gas mark 6) for about 45 minutes. I pierced the slices at regular intervals from the 35th minute onwards to check if the potatoes were cooked.
