Yeast pastry with roasted onions and herb cream cheese
Make a yeast dough from flour, yeast, water, oil, and salt, then cover and let it rise for about 1 hour. Mash the potatoes and cut the ham into thin strips. Finely chop the onions and sauté in a little oil, allowing them to brown slightly. Then remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Mix together the mashed potatoes, herb cream cheese, ham, onions, and fresh, chopped herbs. Season with salt and pepper. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (approximately the size of a baking sheet). Spread the potato mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the grated cheese over it. Roll out the dough lengthwise and cut into slices about 2-3 cm thick. Place the snails flat on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let them rise for another 20 minutes. Bake in the oven at 200°C for about 45 minutes. They taste great both hot and cold. The quantities can be varied as desired. If you like more ham, for example, feel free to use a little more.
