Potato-kohlrabi gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 kohlrabi
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g cream
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda), grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the kohlrabi and potatoes and slice them thinly. Peel the garlic clove and rub it into a greased baking dish. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Layer the potato slices, alternating with the kohlrabi slices, in the dish and season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Crack the eggs and mix with the cream and cheese, then season. Pour the mixture over the potato and kohlrabi slices and bake in the oven for 40 minutes. This dish is especially delicious with freshly grilled or pan-fried dishes.
