Potato Pan with Feta and Maple Syrup Spice Sauce

The perfect potato pan with feta and maple syrup spice sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Maple syrup seasoning sauce

  • 4 Spring onions, cut into rings
  • 2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Salt
  • 150 g Feta
  • 1 tsp Chili Sauce (Sambal Oelek)
  • 1 tbsp Black sesame
  • 1 tbsp White sesame
  • 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 4 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0,5 Lemon, zest and juice

Maple syrup seasoning sauce

  1. Toast the sesame and coriander seeds in a hot and dry pan until they start to smell, then add the maple syrup, let it boil briefly and then pull the pan off the stove. Now add 3 tablespoons of olive oil and the lemon zest and season with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Pour into a bowl and set aside.

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into approx. 2 cm cubes and boil them in sufficient salted water for approx. 10 minutes, then drain and allow to evaporate and cool.
  2. Then heat some olive oil in a pan and fry the potato cubes with the spring onion rings and garlic for about 8 minutes until the potato cubes are golden brown. Then add the sambal oelek and stir everything well.

  1. Cut the feta into small cubes. Arrange the potato pan on a plate, pour the feta cubes over it and drizzle with the spicy sauce.
