potato waffles

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 600 g potatoes
  • 300 g carrot(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 70 g cornstarch
  • 50 g oat flakes
  • Salt
  • Fat for the waffle iron

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

with carrots and onions

Peel and finely grate the potatoes and carrots. Dice the onion. Mix everything well with the remaining ingredients. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. Heat and grease the waffle iron, then preheat the oven to 100°C. Gradually bake the batter into waffles. Spread the batter evenly in the waffle iron with a spoon (not a large blob in the middle) so that everything is covered (otherwise the waffles will have holes and fall apart). Keep the finished waffles warm in the oven. They’re great as a side dish or as a main course with herb quark.
