Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 8 pretzels
  • 1 liter of lukewarm milk
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 30 g butter or margarine
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • salt water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

great way to use up leftover pretzels

It’s best to grate pretzels finely using a food processor. Pour lukewarm milk over the pretzel shavings and let them soak. Sauté the diced onion and parsley in fat. Pour the eggs, onion, parsley, and salt over the pretzels and mix. Form the mixture into 6-8 equal-sized dumplings. Place in boiling salted water, simmer for 5 minutes, and then let them soak in the warm water for another 10 minutes.
